WeatherThe climate of Riga is maritime and temperate. The summers in Riga are very warm and humid, with an average temperature of 18-20°C, the peak often goes as high as 36°C. The warmest time of the year is mid of July. Close to Riga there is „beach" town – Jurmala (the name of the town means beach side). Jurmala's beach is 33 km long, covered with white quartz sand. The shallow coastal waters are suitable and safe for everybody and everybody can find what to do in Jurmala – from simple taking the sun bath to playing the beach volleyball and football or kite surfing.
